No Myspace, Thanks »

I don’t have a Myspace account. Hardly a day goes by where someone fails to point this out to me. This lacking is by design, and is more than deliberate.
It’s not that I’m a snob. It’s not that I’m too elite to join the masses or any similar nonsense. It’s entirely because I’m simply not […]

Fire Damage, Part 2 »

Now that some time has passed and the dust has settled (and believe me, there’s a lot of it), we’re finally starting to get some figures on the damage.  After insurance, it looks like the out-of-pocket expenses are going to be around $5000.  The biggest discrepancy between coverage and cost is coming from the homeowner’s […]

An Open Letter to Harrisburg’s Randy King »

Dear Mr. King,
I read with great interest your comment in today’s Patriot-News regarding Wednesday’s downtown shooting. I am truly surprised that the city of Harrisburg chose this particular posture in response to such an unsettling incident. Although I hope I am mistaken, your statement appears to represent a “head in the sand” approach to […]

RIAA: Going Too Far »

As an avid music fan and member of the digital music revolution (both as an iTunes user & owner of internet base radio station), I firmly believe that the Record Industry Association of America (RIAA) has the right to protect its member’s material. They have been, at times, a bit extreme. Suing end-users of services such as Napster & Kazaa is just a ridiculous waste of time and the money they’re trying to protect.

Parking Bump »

I’m repeating this topic because I’ve gotten a lot of feedback on it, both here and in person: Downtown Harrisburg’s parking is, for the moment, crap. Between the removal of the State Street parking spaces, the opening of The Quarter, and the opening of that Diner place, our parking has pretty much completely […]
