Home Safety Redux

I won’t turn this post into another lecture on the merits of having a home security system, but I did want to point out that it’s not always the criminals who win:
Homeowner Thwarts Burglarly Attempt
It’s nice to see us good guys win once in a while.

i was unable to open your link for this article however i am quite positive you are speaking of the hbg area in general. i too have thwarted a burglary attempt on my car as well as once on the neighbors property. i have recently purchased a firearm and will absolutely not hesitate to pull it. per PA law, i will only shoot if threatened w/bodily harm so my advice to any would-be burglars: walk backwards when running b/c one step, and boom.

PennLive doesn’t have their act together on their new CMS yet, so that link is dead. It used to point to a story about someone fighting off a home invasion.
Be careful with that gun. The law also states that retreat and/or surrender of an item must not be viable options. If someone walks up to you on the street and demands your wallet, the law says you have to hand it over. In your home is another story; for all practical purposes, if someone comes into your home, uninvited and threatening, then you have a right to defend yourself using deadly force.
