New Anti-Spam
By floor9 on Jul 16, 2006 in Rant, Site News
I’ve been dealing with several hundred spam comments per week, and I’ve just made some adjustements to my anti-spam code. Please let me know if the system is difficult to work with, or if you have any feedback in general (use dave@floor-9.com if you can’t manage to post a comment).

have you heard about the new prescription-free c1a lis? haha jk no problem here. guess the numbers were too easy huh

Since I\’ve received no negative feedback on the new captcha, I assume nobody has any problems with it. Great! Since implementation, I\’ve received approximately zero comment spam, so it must be working. If it really starts to bother you, you can always register for an account from the main page; registered users get their posts automatically approved and by pass the captcha. And as an added bonus, nobody can post under your name.

I installed this on my site and it works great. I actually noticed that Floor9 utilizes it after it was working.
You may want to note like I did that the security code is case senstive.
One of these days I may look into setting it up non-case senstive
