New Year, New Look
By floor9 on Jan 2, 2007 in Site News
Well, 2007 is officially upon us. 2006 was a great year for me personally — although everything didn’t go exactly as I planned, nothing ever does. Since every other blogger on the planet has just wrapped up their sappy “2006: A Retrospective” posts, I’ll spare you mine.
2007 has already brought a few changes to the site. Specifically, I’ve transferred my site from Ace-Host to BlueHost. The reasons are multiple, but the only real noticable difference is the domain name. Remember last April when I scored the “floor9.com” domain name? Since that time, I’ve been using floor9 to simply redirect to floor-9 (note the dash). As of today, everything has been transferred over to floor9, and floor-9 will redirect to floor9. In other words, everything has been flipped. I plan to hang on to both domains forever, but if you have any bookmarks, now would be a good time to udpate them.
This also means that my dave@floor-9.com email address is no longer in use. Those of you who already have my gmail address (it’s fairly obvious) should begin using that exclusively. I’ll also have a contact form installed later tomorrow.
Finally, the site has a completely new look. I liked the old template very much, but it was time to move on to some CSS that actually didn’t break in IE. In the coming days, I’ll replace that foggy tree graphic with something relevant. Right now, I’m just out of time.
I’ll do another post shortly with some of the other changes coming for 2007, including a Frost update and some “earth shattering” news from downtown. Until then, I hope you had a happy new year’s, I hope that 2006 was as good for you as it was for me, and I wish you a very happy and prosperous 2007!
