So Much Has Changed

15 years. That’s how long I’ve been floor9.

What started in the summer of 2002 as a way to share photos in the pre-imgur era became my personal blog. Then it took a break. Then it came back. Then it took another break. It came back again. Wash, rinse, repeat. And in that decade-and-a-half, so much has changed in and around Central PA.

How to Alienate Your Customers In 140 Characters or Less

Last week I attended a launch event for Clear at the Abbey Bar in Harrisburg.  Despite the open bar, free food, and promises of free devices with free service, I initially had no interest in going — and I’m not the type of person to turn down an open bar (or, for that matter, free food).  Amusingly, my lack of interest was due entirely to the marketing firm Clear hired to “promote” their event.

January 2010 Tweetup

We’re getting together this Wednesday (always the third Wednesday) at 7pm for our monthly Central PA Tweetup.  Since there were no takers on last week’s “choice of venue” survey, we’re meeting at the Abbey Bar (upstairs at Appalachian Brewing Company on Cameron Street in Harrisburg).  We’ll talk a little more about locale then — and hopefully they’ve got their new menu / chef straightened out now.

Tweetup: Choice of Venue?

January’s Central PA Tweetup is scheduled, as always, for the third Wednesday of the month.  That means we’ll be getting together on 1/20/10 around 7pm to hang out, drink beer, and — if you’ve never been to one before — meet your fellow area Tweeps face-to-face.

We’ve been doing these things for a while now.  What’s it been … two years?  Normally we do this at the Abbey Bar, upstairs at Appalachian Brewing Company.  Over the last few tweetups, several people have suggested rotating through different venues for a change of scenery.  Between the clamor of wrapping up 2009, selling my house, and preparing everything for Moving Day ™, I completely forgot to post about the matter.  So, with a week and a half to spare, here’s your chance to sound off on how the Tweetups go.

October 2008 Central PA Tweetup

Sorry for the late notice, but October’s third Thursday is almost upon us, and that means it’s time once again for our monthly blogger / Twitterer meetup.  As always, we’ll be meeting at the Abbey Bar (upstairs at Appalachian Brewing Company) beginning around 7pm.  Unlike the previous Tweetups, this time we’ll be entirely indoors — just look for a cluster of people with laptops unfurled.
