The New “New iPod”

When my trusty iRiver MP3 player finally bites it (which, sad to say, looks to be a long way off), I’m replacing it with one of these. From the website:
“PocketDISH is a video, music, game and photo device small enough to fit into your pocket and take anywhere, anytime. We’ve taken the latest in digital technologies and combined them into a versatile entertainment-to-go device as indispensable as your cell phone.”
They come in sizes ranging from 20 - 40gb, and have LCD screens ranging from 2.2″ = 7″. The 30gb and 40gb models also allow you to record video from other sources, not just your DishTV DVR. In effect, they become pocket Tivos. Best of all, transferring video from your DishTV DVR only takes about 5 minutes.
With the trend towards smaller and smaller hard drives in today’s MP3 players, this is a welcome change of pace.
Back to the Harrisburg rants tomorrow - for today, this was too cool to pass up.
