Denim Lounge

I was invited to a private function at Denim Lounge this past Wednesday. Free drinks, free food, how could I say no? The function was from 7-11, so we left Harrisburg at 4, figuring 3 hours would be more than enough to beat Philly rush hour.
Wrong.
We hit the 76 tolls on the turnpike around 5:30. Around 6 we moved up 4 cars to reach the tollbooth. Around 6:15 we pulled out of the tollbooth. Around 7:30 we finally made it past the exit. By 10:30, we had travelled a total distance of 3.8 miles since stopping at the tollbooth. With the event over at 11, and at least another 30 minutes to center city via ‘burb roads, we hopped back on 76 in the opposite direction and came home. 8 hours of driving for nothing.
Apparently a truck had overturned, spilling paint all over 76. While I understand that “traffic congestion” is a new concept that has only come to be this year, couldn’t someone in any scope of authority in Philly put up a sign? A detour? Warnings of any sort?
Philly sucks. Pics in the gallery.
