… I ran into a former Wink coworker. He’s one of the sound engineers at Dragonfly. Kinda funny that we both work there, but haven’t run into each other until now.

… I ran into another former Wink coworker. I didn’t recognize her at all, even after she gave me her name. She lost a tremendous amount of weight, and looks like a completely different person. But the cool thing is her personality — she’s otherwise the same person she was before. The awkward thing is not recognizing her, despite hearing her name, until halfway through the conversation. And in one of those moments that makes you feel like you’re living a Seinfeld episode, I couldn’t find a way to say “Wow, you look great!” 45 minutes into our chat. So I wound up pretty much not giving her the reaction she deserved. Sorry about that, if you’re reading this. Drop me an email and I’ll apologize.

… I got recognized for having my store finish second in accessory sales company-wide. Not bad for a brand-new location. Showing the incumbents who’s boss … awww yeah.

… My first block of classes posted, giving me a 4.0 GPA. ” Dave, congratulations on a fine week and on a superlative performance throughout the entire class. Your writing has been of a consistently high caliber, and your many good ideas … have added greatly to class discussion. I have made separate comments about your final paper. You have clearly demonstrated a very good grasp of the principles and fundamentals of persuasive writing. Thank you for all your solid and positive contribution to class. I know you will be especially pleased to know that you scored highest in class!”

… I got a raise, although I don’t yet know the exact amount. But it’s good.

… I got a primo parking spot on Pine Street before heading into Dragonfly. As an added bonus, despite being parked under a tree, my car received no “bird wash”.

… I met the admin of HarrisburgNightlife.com, but I was working. One of the drawbacks to working at a club is that you never actually get to go out.
