Vegas 2007: Travelocity Rocks

Five days until our a320 departs from Baltimore. And I’ve got to point out that Travelocity rocks. Long story short, we were going to stay at The Westin Casuarina, a decent bargain-basement hotel on the strip (Vegas is so awesome that a Westin is considered no-frills accommodation). At $300-something per person for one week including hotel / air / taxes / fees, it was a steal. But it gets better:

When I called the hotel to confirm our reservation, I was told that a cot could not be provided in a room with two double beds. Upon hearing of this, Travelocity began calling other Vegas hotels to find one that would accommodate us; they understand that asking three guys to sleep in two beds is, in fact, catastrophic. Earlier today I received a call from Travelocity that we had been booked in a Junior Suite at the Luxor. Free. Since the hotel wasn’t going to provide the room that Travelocity had described, Travelocity was going to eat the price difference.

Needless to say, my future trips will be booked through Travelocity for a long, long time.

Unless, of course, this somehow falls apart. Despite having a valid confirmation number that can be verified through any agent or the automated system, I can’t view this trip online. Something, somewhere, is wrong.

I hope it’s something minor.
